The section under consideration extends from line 2630 railway km 44,160 to line 3510 km 27,850 and has a total length of about 130 km. The renovation is part of the nationwide programme to upgrade the high-performance corridors and is to be implemented in the first half of 2028. … the plant availability and the network status rating of the line as well as to achieve eight years of construction freedom after commissioning. As part of the corridor renovation, around 81 km of track, 102 switches and almost 76 km of overhead line will be renewed in four construction phases between Remagen and Mainz. In addition, the new construction of three overtaking tracks as well as adaptations and new constructions on around 13 turnout heaters are planned. In addition, the project includes extensive refurbishment measures at the Bank, Bett and Kammereck tunnels, the expansion and refurbishment of 25 traffic stations as well as the construction of five new bridges, various passageways and supporting structures. The control and safety technology will be modernized in two construction phases. ESTW or DSTW technology will be built and put into operation in the Koblenz node and on the Gau-Algesheim to Budenheim section in 2028. In the existing LST areas, necessary block compactions are also implemented and GWB signals are retrofitted as required. By switching from old technology to modern ESTW and DSTW technology, optimised block compaction, additional track change operation, higher turnout speeds and improved bypass options, the operational quality on the line is to be sustainably increased. The project is divided into four construction phases. The tendering plan SbaD was drawn up in accordance with these four lots.
