Die Niedersächsische Landesbehörde für Straßenbau und Verkehr - regionaler Geschäftsbereich Hannover - setzt als Vorhabenträger ab dem Jahr 2025 die sich in Ausführung befindliche Maßnahme L389 Hiddestorf - Arnum um, bei der unter anderem die Fahrbahn sowie die Gehwege innerhalb der OD Arnum im Bereich zwischen dem Freibad und dem Knotenpunkt mit der B3alt erneuert werden. Entlang der Hiddestorfer Straße/L389 und der Ortsdurchfahrt standen einseitig Lindenbäume. Im Zuge der Erneuerung der Gehwege können nicht alle Linden erhalten werden, sodass es zu einem Verlust von straßenbegleitenden Einzelbäumen kommt. Zweck der Landschaftsbauarbeiten ist es, den durch die Ausbaumaßnahme bedingten Verlust der Gehölze und ihrer Lebensraumfunktion für den Naturhaushalt sowie die Beeinträchtigungen des Landschaftsbildes auszugleichen.
