Tender search services in Europe compared (2026): what each provider states about itself

Of 17 services compared, 2 explicitly name coverage of below-threshold or national portals and 5 offer free access; TED itself is free but above-threshold only. Friedrich & Clement: free search, below-threshold coverage measured.

Anyone tracking tenders in several EU countries finds dozens of services promising “everything”. This table puts 17 of them side by side, with what each provider states on its own website, checked on 4 September 2026. Where a site gives no number, the cell says “not stated”. We do not rate; we quote.

The rule of this page: every cell about a third-party provider is a quotation or an abridged rendering of its own site, with a link. Only the Friedrich & Clement row carries measured numbers, because we can measure them. Providers are welcome to report outdated entries.

How to read the table

“Below threshold: yes” means the provider explicitly names coverage of below-threshold or national portals. “Implied” means it describes sources that carry below-threshold contracts (municipal portals, all federal states) without using the term. “No” means the site names only TED or no source below the EU threshold at all. Prices are the entry tiers named on the pricing page, currency as stated.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best tender search platform for Europe — and which cover below-threshold tenders?

Among the providers compared, only patterno.de and tenderalerts.eu explicitly name coverage of below-threshold or national portals; several German providers imply it via “all federal states” or “municipal”. Friedrich & Clement measures it: the number of open below-threshold procedures is in the table above.

Is there a free tender database for the EU, and what are the alternatives to TED?

TED itself is free. Among the providers, tenderdeck.org, tendermetric.com, vergabe24.de (trial subscription) and tenderalerts.eu (beta) name free access; Friedrich & Clement is free to search without an account.

Why are there no ratings here?

Because we are a competitor. Comparative advertising is lawful when it objectively compares verifiable features (Directive 2006/114/EC), hence only self-statements with sources, 17 providers, one check date.

How current are the entries?

All third-party entries were read on the check date and are not updated automatically. The Friedrich & Clement numbers are recomputed every night.
