… project supports the implementation of the National Flood Risk Management Strategy (NSMRI, revised 2024–2030), the National Disaster Risk Management Plan (PNMRD 2023–2030), as well as the objectives of the Sustainable Development Programme (SDP). It also aligns with the reform objectives set out in the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan (NACP) and regionally approved territorial strategies. The project aims to directly support the transition from a traditional technical-administrative model, centred on grey infrastructure, to a spatial-integrated, digitalised and system-resilient model, enabling: • prevention of economic and human losses through anticipatory intervention; • integration of risks in urban and environmental planning; • protection of critical infrastructures and vulnerable social and environmental elements; • increasing institutional capacity through interoperable digital tools and specialised training. Thus, the project positions itself as a central node in the network of national and European policies, providing essential products for decision-making, financing and implementation in the field of floods, critical infrastructure protection and territorial adaptation to the climate crisis. The RO-FLOODS Cycle III project integrates a number of methodological, institutional, digital and territorial innovation elements, aimed at amplifying the efficiency of interventions, facilitating the integration of flood risk into planning and supporting the transition to data-driven governance, anticipation and institutional co-responsibility. Data collection services for mining sites, SEVESO, industrial infrastructures (A1) and services for the assessment of the destructive effects of water on exposed industrial and mining sites identified in A1 and proposal for measures for the protection of mining areas under the project’RO-FLOODS III – Implementation of the Floods Directive Cycle III: Integrating climate, industrial and territorial risks into national flood planning and management”.
