What the buyer is looking for

The intention of the building solves the revitalization - the reconstruction of the existing space of the bus station (AS) with the aim of creating a more urban, urban environment. By incorporating elements of urban greenery, urban furniture, create a feeling of a small square for passers-by, coupled with the need for travel and the integration of urban elements – shopping, restaurant services, space for relaxation and, last but not least, involve more and space around the statue of soldier Švejk. The aim is to create a terminal with the integration of collective passenger transport. The design leaves the original entrances and exits for AS. The entrance to the AS situated on the west side is controlled – electronic barrier. Two exits are designed behind the entrance. The AS area is divided into two platforms – north and south, which is connected by a footbridge and a pedestrian…

… crossing. It also serves as a temporary waiting room in case of bad weather. The AS space has a rotating field that allows the buses to rotate to the northern platforms. Southern platforms are designed for the direction of suburban bus lines – Medzilaborce, Snina, Ohradzany, etc. Northern platforms are mainly used for suburban directions Prešov, Košice and long-distance lines. Platforms in the north are covered with a steel structure with a protective noise barrier with a height of about 2.5 m realized from visual bricks. The noise and dust protection is also made up of an additional green alley. The southern platforms are also covered with a steel structure. These are smaller type elements that will not visually shield the original object of the main railway building. When exiting the AS towards the east, there are two reserve stands. It can be used as extraordinary connections or stands for alternative bus transport in the event of a railway lock-out. To the north at the eastern exit, there are parking stands for buses (7 seats) for break times. Platform space and pedestrian pre-stations will be re-paved and supplemented with furniture (benches, baskets, information and advertising boards) and greenery has grown, which will create shade and improve the microclimate of the space. Before entering the AS, there are taxi stands on the left side. The stands allow shifting in a sloping position, facing the bus and train stations in the number of 9 stands. Over the space of the bus station and road no. 74/I – Družstevná street is designed connecting footbridge. The footbridge is used for barrier-free and safe passage of the road and connection of the catchment car park (P+R) in the northern part of the space. The footbed is designed for the movement of pedestrians and cyclists and, of course, immobile persons. It is accessible by a two-arm staircase and a glazed large-capacity elevator in a simple ŽB and a glazed cubicle. The elevator is oversized so that it also allows the transport of immobile persons on a trolley or bicycle. The footbridge ensures accessibility and is a richly glazed and feeling safe transition. The space between the existing facilities (multifunctional building, delicacies, hospitality, post office) is being revitalized – new pedestrian roads, supplemented greenery and parking facilities. At the same time, two access supply communications and a pedestrian area with relaxed transport will be implemented for these operations. (supply, removal of municipal waste). In the western part of the area of the original road, a turning point and a station for public transport buses will be created. Three buses can be parked in this area. This space can also be used in the event of a railway lock-out as a standpoint for alternative bus transport. In the northern part, through road No.74 (Družstevná ulica), the original paved area is comprehensively revitalized – water permeable areas are created, parking for immobile persons is provided and greenery is supplemented. The proposed modification of the area creates 55 parking spaces, of which two for immobile persons and two reserved for charging electric cars. Pre-conditioning will be carried out for charging electric cars.
