Based on these experiences, the Wetteraukreis broke new ground with the 2017/18 school year and began the nationwide expansion of the SiS and has been completed since the 2020/21 school year. Under social planning criteria, 12 school associations were formed in the Wetteraukreis, which comprise at least one secondary school and the surrounding primary schools. … independent youth welfare institutions in accordance with § 75 SGB VIII within the framework of the contract to be awarded. The main focus of social work in schools is the direct work with the pupils. Situation-related and case-independent cooperation with other participants within and outside the school system is necessary. This results in complementary objectives and tasks that are closely related to each other. With the expansion of social work in schools, the Wetteraukreis faces up to its responsibility with regard to the creation of a good framework for the education and upbringing of young people in the Wetteraukreis. Because of social change processes, the changed growth of children and young people, increasing ethnic and socio-cultural diversity and increasing mobility, youth welfare, schools and municipalities nationwide are faced with the need to understand education and upbringing as a common task. More equal opportunities and equity in education is the common goal, the pooling of resources and the use of diverse competences is the common way to ensure the achievement of school-leaving qualifications, the transition to work and the growth of a responsible, community-capable generation.
