What the buyer is looking for
The purpose of the measure is to maintain and ensure the functioning of the Northern Main Line through the Bollnäs operating site. The northern main line is a very important part of Sweden's rail network and has extensive traffic of both freight trains and passenger trains. In Bollnäs, the double track passes from south to single track north and the single track line towards Edsbyn-Furudal also connects at the operational site. The track sections in question have a low technical standard and are currently at risk of causing problems for train traffic and entailing high maintenance costs. … the demolition of ca: 2 000 track meters and approx.: 2,000 meters of new track will be built. When the operating site is extended southwards, cables, signalling, electrical power, overhead contact line and ground installations must be adapted to changing gears and changing tracks. Bollnäs is a complex relay switchgear of model M59 with installation year 1981. Traffic system H and is ATC equipped with parallel and serial encoders. Adjacent lines affected are the double track from Kilafors and the single track towards Lottefors, both of which are controlled by conventional line blocking. Entrance/exit signals on the single track line towards Edsbyn-Furudal will also be affected.
