… the Directive on methods of contract medical care (MVV-RL) and the quality assurance agreement pursuant to Paragraph 135(2) of the SGB V for the diagnosis and therapy of sleep-related breathing disorders, insofar as they relate to the performance of polysomnography. In addition, it must be accredited by the German Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine (DGSM) or a comparable specialist society, or it can prove that the quality criteria formulated by the specialist societies for sleep laboratories are met by presenting appropriate documents and examining the requirements as part of an inspection by the medical service. The sleep laboratory must be guided by a somnologist (DGSM) or a doctor with additional training in sleep medicine. The management can also be ensured by a medical examiner. The sleep laboratory must have at least one cooperation agreement with doctors and at least one cooperation agreement with medical aids. Interested sleep laboratories can request the contract documents, including the templates for the cooperation agreements and the participation documents, at the contact address [email protected]. Prerequisite for the conclusion of a contract is that the interested sleep laboratory submits the requested participation documents in full and signed. Any sleep laboratory that meets the eligibility requirements can join the contract. There is no exclusivity. Individual contract negotiations are not carried out. Accession to the Treaty may take place at any time and on the same terms until 31.12.2031. The contract will enter into force on 1 January 2026 at the earliest. The purpose of this contract is to improve the quality of treatment of patients suspected of having sleep-related breathing disorders, in particular obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). This is to be achieved, among other things, by improving cooperation and seamless care between family doctors, specialists (pulmonologists, sleep doctors), sleep laboratories and aid providers as well as the implementation of standardized care routes. The better integration of the different performance sectors, the implementation of a close follow-up and instruction on the use of the CPAP devices promotes sustainable treatment and can counteract abortions. This increases the cost-effectiveness of care and improves patient management. The content of the contract for special care is fixed for all interested sleep laboratories and is non-negotiable. This publication does not constitute the award of a public contract within the meaning of Directive 2014/24/EU or public procurement law.
