What the buyer is looking for

The objective of this contract is to gain a better understanding of the migratory routes, migratory behaviour and use of the North Sea area by the rugged dwarf bat by sending and tracking bats via the MOTUS network, complemented by DNA research. The results should contribute to a better assessment of the effects of wind farms at sea at population level. In addition, the data should provide insight into flight routes, flight altitudes and migratory moments, so that mitigation measures, such as the temporary shutdown of wind turbines, can be used more effectively. There is also room for additional analyses and innovative research techniques, provided that they demonstrably contribute to reducing existing knowledge gaps. 4 years + 2 x 1 year option for extension

When contracts were awarded in this country and sector, usually about 3 bids came in. A normal field for this market. (Based on 1,901 completed awards — not a statement about this procedure.)

This procedure allows 69 days between publication and deadline — typical in this country is 48 (median of 2,911 procedures). Much more generous than usual — time for a thorough bid rather than a quick one.
