… The municipality of Vlaardingen intends to reconstruct the public space in the Wilgendreef, Elzendreef, IJsselhoevedreef and part of the Populierendreef as a result of structural subsidence due to the weak subsurface. The work starts with the removal of existing pavements and the excavation of the subsurface, after which the area with sand is raised to approximately 0.30-0.70 meters to restore the desired level. Subsequently, the sewer system will be renewed and adapted, including the transfer of house connections, and rainwater will be disconnected from the mixed system where possible and drained to the open water along the project area. Subsequently, new pavements are installed and the public space is redesigned, optimizing the layout on the basis of current municipal policy and the input of residents. Within the implementation, coordination with utilities takes place and their work is facilitated where necessary. Finally, green areas are restored and where possible improved, street furniture is installed and handover takes place to the management departments of the municipality. The work is carried out in phases, in which accessibility and limiting nuisance to the environment are central. The assignment is limited to public space; Private gardens and back paths are not part of this contract.
