What the buyer is looking for
Since 1 January 2022, municipalities are responsible for the collection and recycling of recycled paper after the previous producer responsibility was abolished. As of 1 July 2026, a reformed waste legislation entered into force, giving professional activities their own responsibility for, among other things, recycled paper and used office paper. The municipality's former sole responsibility for these waste streams has thus been changed and replaced by a system in which the municipality in some cases has a so-called secondary responsibility. … the collection, transport, sorting, storage, disposal and disposal of recovered paper from municipal recycling stations (ÅVS), multi-dwelling buildings and other community facilities and municipal operations. Collection via four-compartment containers is not included in this procurement. The procurement also includes the disposal of collected volumes collected by the municipality in-house via four-compartment vessels and tipped at the transfer station, Björshult's waste facility. In 2025, the collected volume in Nyköping municipality amounted to 214 tonnes. Starting from September 2026, Nyköping Municipality will start collecting recycled paper via four-compartment containers in-house, which means an expected reduction in recycled paper volumes, primarily at recycling stations.
