What the buyer is looking for

The planned Frankenhalle is a new building of a 3-field sports hall, mainly intended for the school operation of the school center on the Sund (also called Campus am Sund). The existing location of the school is on the edge of the historic old town, at the transition to the Frankenvorstadt. Both districts are populous and well developed. The ‘Schulzentrum am Sund’ is a cooperative comprehensive school (KGS) in which the regional and high school sections work and live together on an equal footing in a social and pedagogical network. The aim of the construction project is the construction of a modern, barrier-free 3-field sports hall for about 1000 pupils of the 5th to 12th grades for the school center on the Sund. The Hanseatic city of Stralsund is planning to build this 3-field sports hall on a neighbouring plot next to the school centre ‘Am Sund’. The basis of the planning for the new…

… construction of a 3-field sports hall is the development of a modern and contemporary sports hall taking into account the requirements for accessibility, school sports, special education, all-day care and recreational sports. The available building plot borders directly on the southern boundary of the school campus. To the west of the building plot is a four-storey, partly five-storey residential development, and to the south a two- to four-storey residential or commercial development. At the eastern edge of the property, the construction of a future cycle and walkway is planned and to be taken into account in further planning. The property is largely developed in terms of supply. In the course of the re-planning, some public utilities are to be re-introduced to the site. According to DIN, the 3-field sports hall is to be given a playing field of 45.0 x 27.0 m, which can be divided into 3 playing fields of 27 x 15 m by two dividing curtains. A baffle wall is planned all around. The floor is designed as a wood-vibrating floor or as a surface-elastic floor. The clear height of the sports hall should be 7.0 m. The sports hall is intended for sports in competitions according to DIN 18032.
