What the buyer is looking for
The object of the contract comprises several data server systems that meet different requirements and must be designed to be highly available in time-critical 24/7 operation. The hardware of the entire system consisting of database servers, data access servers, storage systems and network is to be modernized and enlarged as part of this process. 99% availability is expected for each data server system. … least fifty kilometres from the DMRZ-OF site. The exact location is not yet known. The site shall be notified as soon as possible and no later than March 2027. Once determined, the contractor will be informed immediately about the DMRZ-EX site. An independent, smaller data server system also at the DMRZ-EX site. As an option, this system should instead be installed at the Bundeswehr site in Euskirchen DMRZ-EU. The decision as to whether the DMRZ-Euskirchen option will be selected by the German Meteorological Service will be made at the latest by the time of the award. The creation of the overall system is divided into the following phases: Phase 1: Delivery, installation, operation and maintenance phase 2 (optional): Continued operation of the system service, if necessary.
