If the service provider does not produce SKE activities itself, the Act on Private Social Services requires the subcontractor to notify the client of their service. The notification is stored by the supervisory authority in the Soteri register. Temporary housing can be arranged in units referred to in Section 21b (community housing) and Section 21c (24-hour service housing) of the Social Welfare Act (1301/2014). The aim of short-term care or temporary housing is to support the client's living at home or to support the caregiver in the care of a relative/close relative. Temporary housing or short-term care is provided for people who, for a special reason, need short-term help or support for independent living. Temporary means a period of up to three (3) months. Short-termism can also be recurrent on a regular basis. Short-term care in service housing differs from long-term housing in that no rental agreement is signed with the customer.
