… enable high-resolution multidimensional and spectral imaging as well as the investigation of dynamic cellular processes. Among other things, multi-color and high-speed imaging, fluorescence lifetime measurements (FLIM), FRET/FRAP applications as well as the recording and evaluation of 3D and time series data are planned. The system should have flexible excitation and spectral detection capabilities and be suitable for quantitative and functional fluorescence imaging. The associated software is intended to enable the control, recording, processing, quantification and evaluation of multidimensional image data. The system is particularly suitable for the gentle volumetric imaging of living 2D and 3D cell cultures, tissue samples and other biological model systems as well as for long-term and high-throughput experiments. A system for the rapid acquisition of three-dimensional image data with multichannel fluorescence imaging, automated sample and light sheet alignment as well as possibilities for the use of different sample carriers including slides, cell culture trays and multiwell plates is required. The necessary image acquisition and evaluation software as well as the computer infrastructure required for the processing of extensive 3D data sets are also part of the system.
