What the buyer is looking for
There is a growing population of patients with a cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED), such as pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders. The medical and technical follow-up of these patients and devices requires good structural data collection. The legally determined establishment of the materiovigilance contact points (Royal Decree 15/11/2017) within the healthcare institutions also requires a good follow-up of all incidents with these implants. The monitoring of these devices is increasingly shifting to remote telecardiological monitoring, which requires good documentation of data traffic and medical actions. Currently, no structural data storage and workflow of this information of patients with a CIED is provided within the KWS. With NexuzHealth, a project is underway in which a structural CIED file is designed within the KWS that can be used within different hospitals.…

… Here we want to collect and present the various information flows from hospitalisation, outpatient and telecardiological care ‘patient centered’ within a uniform dashboard. By unambiguously encoding the information from these different data streams, they can land in the same place. As a result, the most up-to-date information is always available centrally. NexuzHealth carried out a mapping of the desired fields and the corresponding definitions in the internationally recognised IEEE standard (IEEE Std 11073-10103) that structures the data export across different CIED producers. This translation must be done on multiple platforms both for in-house control and via web portals where the data of the home follow-up comes in. However, a preliminary study by NexuzHealth showed that the producers do not yet apply this standard uniformly. A ‘translation’ of the supplied data by the various producers cannot be included by NexuzHealth and requires the involvement of a third party (‘middle true vendor’).
