Im Zuge der IGA 2027 plant die Stadt Waltrop den Ausbau einer Rad und Fußwege - Verbindung entlang des Dortmund - Ems - Kanals in einer Länge von ca. 4,3 km zwischen dem Schiffshebewerk Henrichenburg (Station 0+000) und der Viktorstraße (Station 4+395.168) in Waltrop. Durch die geplante Wegetrassierung wird das Schiffshebewerk an die vorhandene Radinfrastruktur der Stadt Waltrop angebunden. Die Leistungen umfassen die Arbeiten und Lieferungen für die Herrichtung der Route Vital entlang des Dortmund-Ems-Kanals in Waltrop. Die Wegeführung wird hauptsächlich als Fuß- und Radweg genutzt allerdings auch als Betriebsweg für das WSA. Die Herstellung der Route Vital ist in 3 Bauabschnitten geplant. 1. BA: Schleusenvorhafen bis zur Schule Oberwiese 2. BA: Von der Schule Oberwiese bis zum Hafen an der Hafenstraße 3.
