Ökologische Aufwertung der Steinfurter Aa bei Wettringen; Erd-, Wasserbau-, Pflanz- und Pflegearbeiten Die Naturschutzstiftung Kreis Steinfurt beabsichtigt im Rahmen der Umsetzung der Wasserrahmenrichtlinie in einem etwa 1,5 km langen Abschnitt auf ca. 15 ha Fläche Maßnahmen zur gewässerökologischen Aufwertung der Steinfurter Aa bei Wettringen nahe des Ortsteils Tie-Esch durchführen zu lassen. Aufgrund der umfangreich zur Verfügung stehenden Flächen sind zahlreiche Maßnahmen geplant, insbesondere Aufweitungen des Gewässerprofils/Anlage und Entwicklung von Sekundärauen, Laufverlagerungen, Anhebungen der Sohle, tlw. Rückbau einer Fischauftstiegsanlage und Herstellung einer Sohlgleite, umfangreicher Bodenabtrag und Wiedereinbau/Auftrag auf landwirtschaftliche Flächen sowie die Herstellung naturnaher Ufer- und Böschungsbereiche. Vereinzelt sind Anpflanzungen von Gehölzen vorgesehen.
