What the buyer is looking for
The subject of the invitation to tender is the provision of medical services to the Health Office of the City of Essen in the context of the second morgue at cremations in accordance with § 15 of the Law on Cemetery and Funeral Services (BestG NRW) and before the transport of a corpse or stillbirth abroad in accordance with § 16(5) BestG NRW. As a lower health authority, the health office is obliged under § 15(1) BestG NRW to conduct a second morgue before each cremation. The purpose of conducting a second morgue is to confirm that there is no suspicion of non-natural death. Under Paragraph 16(5) of the BestG NRW, a medical examination is also required before a dead body or stillbirth is transported abroad in order to determine whether there are indications of non-natural death.
