Clement What the numbers say about this buyer

  • In this sector the buyer awards roughly every 2 months (84 awards, most recently September 2026) — the next award is due around November 2026 by that rhythm. The last award went to Light Conversion UAB.n = 84
  • The award came in at a median 65% of the estimated value (8 awards with both estimate and value) — pricing at the estimate is usually too high here. Sector: 98%.n = 8
  • 36% of this buyer's awards went to companies that had already won here before (240 awards since 2018, spread over 150 companies). 64% went to new names.n = 240 awards since 2018

Foreign bidders

In Germany · Laboratory & optical equipment, 566 contracts went to foreign companies over the last 3 years (of 12,420 recorded awards) — mostly from France, Netherlands, United Kingdom.

Submission language: DEU.

Typical field: median 1 (from 133 awards).

Measured from linked award data; foreign winners bidding through a local subsidiary count as domestic — the true share is higher.

What the buyer is looking for

Delivery "free place of use", installation and commissioning of a Cz breeding plant for the cultivation of fluoride single crystals. In addition: Provision of documentation, acceptance (factory and final acceptance), service in the event of a fault. The system allows the growth of single fluoride crystals from the melt by drawing (e.g. Czochralski method). The system is used in a research environment and must ensure frequent user access, easy maintenance and high process stability. The system should be able to produce crystals with a maximum diameter of 100 mm (4 inches) and a weight of up to 5 kg. The maximum inner diameter of the crucible is estimated at about 200 mm. The crystal breeding process takes place in a water-cooled stainless steel chamber, the inner wall of which must be electropolished to achieve a high vacuum. Argon and CF4 are used as process gases. The system shall have…

… a beacon-out function, i.e. the chamber shall be evacuated to a high vacuum (<1×10-6 mbar) under heating to >50 °C. The process is carried out at a pressure slightly above atmospheric pressure (typically 1,05-1,1 bar) in static or flowing atmosphere. The starting material is located in a carbon-based crucible (graphite or glass-like carbon), which is heated in the center of the stainless steel chamber. The heating is carried out by means of a graphite resistance heater, which heats the crucible and the melt. The crystallization process is initiated by a vaccine crystal attached to a rotating and translationally movable shaft of platinum, which is immersed in the melt. The vaccine crystal is then slowly pulled out of the melt under rotation, creating a volume single crystal.
