Η προτεινόμενη παρέμβαση αφορά την εκτέλεση βυθοκορήσεων στην ευρύτερη θαλάσσια περιοχή του λιμένα Σούδας και περιμετρικά της επέκτασης του νέου προβλήτα, με στόχο την εξασφάλιση ωφέλιμου βάθους έως 12,50 m. Οι εργασίες περιλαμβάνουν τη διαμόρφωση των απαιτούμενων λειτουργικών βαθών για την εξυπηρέτηση του νέου προβλήτα και του λιμένα, καθώς και τη δημιουργία κελιού περιορισμένης θαλάσσιας διάθεσης (Confined Aquatic Disposal – CAD) για τη διαχείριση μέρους των βυθοκορημάτων. Επίσης στην περιοχή έδρασης του νέου έργου επέκτασης του προβλήτα ‘ΑΔΡΙΑΣ’, το οποίο θα υλοποιηθεί με άλλη εργολαβία με τίτλο: «Κατασκευή Τμήματος Κρουαζιέρας λιμένα ΣούδαςΕπέκταση προβλήτα ‘ΑΔΡΙΑΣ’», θα γίνουν οι απαραίτητες βυθοκορήσεις για την εξυγίανση του πυθμένα με εκσκαφή και αφαίρεση του επιτόπου εδαφικού υλικού σε πάχος 5,0m περίπου, κλιμακωτά ακολουθώντας κατά το δυνατόν το ανάγλυφο του πυθμένα. Τα υλικά που θα προκύψουν από τις βυθοκορήσεις χαρακτηρίζονται ως μη επικίνδυνα και αδρανή και, σύμφωνα με τους εγκεκριμένους περιβαλλοντικούς όρους, τα αδρανή βυθοκορήματα θα διατεθούν σε εγκεκριμένη θαλάσσια περιοχή απόθεσης, ενώ τα μη επικίνδυνα βυθοκορήματα θα ενταφιαστούν εντός του κελιού CAD και θα καλυφθούν με στρώση αδρανών υλικών πάχους τουλάχιστον 3 m.
