What the buyer is looking for
Over time, Køge has been hit by some very powerful storm surges and has thus been flooded several times. As a result of the climatic sea level rise, the frequency of flooding of Køge is expected to increase in the future. The State has designated Køge Bay as a flood risk area under the EU Floods Directive. On this basis, Køge Municipality has launched a coastal protection project, Køge Dige. Køge Dige aims to protect Køge Municipality's coastal urban areas from flooding from the sea, and when completed will extend over most of Køge Municipality's coastline from Skensved Å in the north, down over Køge Harbour and towards Vedskølle Å in the south. Coastal protection will consist of dikes, high-water walls and high-water ports, as well as pumps for handling water from the hinterland. Køge Dige is divided into three sub-areas: Sub-area 1: Copenhagen road. The northern part, stretching from…

… the municipal border towards Solrød Municipality to the point along Værtsvej, north of Køge Marina, where existing terrain itself becomes sufficiently high to constitute protection. Here, coastal protection is basically established as a dike east of the Copenhagen Road and around the urban areas east of the Copenhagen Road, just as a high-water port is established in the Snogebækken. At Havstokken, a combination of high-water walls and dikes is established on a short stretch. Pumping stations in this sub-area are offered separately and must be set up in another contract - not covered by this call for tenders. Sub-area 2: Køge Marina and Port of Køge. The central part of Køge Dige includes Køge Marina and Køge Harbour. On this part, coastal protection consists of high-water walls, and terrain elevations on the northern part of the port, as well as a large high-water port in the public port (Slipset). The task of establishing the large high-water port in the Port of Køge, with the associated port channel and pumping station, is offered in a separate tender with the associated delivery contract, and it is not part of this contract - not covered by this tender. At Søndre Havn, only coastal protection at Køge Roklub is included as part of Køge Dige and this tender. Sub-heading 3: The beach road. The southern area includes the stretch from Strandpromenaden at Kjøge Miniby to Vedskølle Å. Here, Strandvejen serves as the protection for most of the stretch. A dike is established around Hotel Comwell, and the forest road, which runs through a forest area immediately north of Vedskølle Å, is increased. The tendered main contract covers high-water/coastal protection in the three sub-areas by establishing approximately: • 5,000 meters of dikes • 1,900 meters of ditches along the back of dikes • Installation of approx. 75,000 cubic meters of soil • 1,400 meters of high-water walls/spuns with openings for bulkheads • 400 meters of terrain regulation • High-water sports in the Snogebækken. The tendered works are described in more detail in the tender documents.
