Pour préserver l'histoire du site, la maitrise d'ouvrage souhaite conserver des bâtiments. Ainsi une partie du programme, ci-dessus, sera réalisée dans l'enveloppe des bâtiments existants (dont l'état nécessite un curage complet pour une nouvelle occupation). Cet objectif répond aussi à l'enjeu fort d'insertion du projet dans le bâti pavillonnaire environnant.
