What the buyer is looking for

Tampere University of Applied Sciences Ltd. is mapping the solutions and suppliers available on the market for the possible procurement of a schedule planning and optimisation service. The preliminary goal is to acquire a schedule planning and optimization solution implemented as a license-based SaaS service as well as a two-way Peppi integration related to the service. As a rule, the subject of the procurement is not the transfer of the intellectual property rights of the software, source code or software to TAMK, but the right to use the service maintained and developed by the supplier. The solution must form schedule proposals based on the rules, objectives, resource constraints and quality criteria defined by TAMK. The solution must be based on mathematical optimization. The solution shall not be based on generative artificial intelligence or copying, imitating or predicting previous…

… reading sequences or historical material. The solution must enable simultaneous processing of teaching events, teachers, student groups, facilities, dates and other information affecting the schedule planning. The solution must produce alternative read-only solutions that can be evaluated by the user and demonstrate how the set rules, limitations, objectives and quality criteria are met in each solution. The starting data for teaching and schedule planning will be transferred from the Peppi system package used by TAMK to the optimisation service. Ready-made reading order approved by the user, i.e. the result of the optimization, must be able to be returned to the Peppi system for further processing and publication. The preliminary procurement package may include the right to use the SaaS service and the optimization tool it uses, piloting with TAMK data, defining design rules and quality criteria, mathematical implementation of optimization models, technical implementation, implementation and maintenance of the Peppi integration, testing, training, documentation and continuous support and maintenance service. Continuous service must initially include service maintenance, agreed support services, bug fixes, security updates, and software versions and updates related to the optimization of reading schedules. The market survey will further clarify which updates and new features are included in the ongoing service fee and which changes are charged separately.,
