What the buyer is looking for
The most important parameters to be determined during the in-process control and for the release of the manufactured active substances and investigational medicinal products (IMPs) on the LC-HRMS device are the unambiguous determination of the identity by means of the exact mass and isotope distribution, confirmation of the peptide sequence by MS/MS experiments, detection, identification and quantification of partly isobaric by-products, as well as the determination of the content of the target peptide. Due to the large number of potential analytes in the intermediate and final products, at possibly very fast Elution (UHPLC), the speed of the device with high resolution is decisive. Quadrupole/ Time-of-Flight (QTOF) devices combine both aspects and thus represent the most suitable mass detector for our purposes.
