Die Stadt Bad Münstereifel beabsichtigt infolge der Hochwasserkatastrophe 2021 Sanierung der Erftbrücke im Bereich der Kölner Straße 34. Diese wurde durch die enormen Wassermassen stark beschädigt. Derzeit ist diese Brücke provisorisch abgesperrt, da die Schäden für eine Verkehrsfreigabe zu massiv sind. Die Brücke stellt die Zufahrten zu den Häusern Kölner Straße 26,28 und 42 sowie dem beiliegenden Parkplatz sicher. Es handelt sich bei diesem Projekt um eine durch das Land Nordrhein-Westfalen und die Bundesrepublik Deutschland geförderte Maßnahme zur Beseitigung von Schäden an öffentlicher und privater Infrastruktur sowie zum Wiederaufbau anlässlich der Starkregen- und Hochwasserkatastrophe im Juli 2021 (Fördermittelrichtlinie (FRL) Wiederaufbau Nordrhein-Westfalen) vom 27 Mai 2025.
